2000 – 2020 Pre-empathism: this is the gestation period of the Movement, between rigorous studies and the first relevant publications whose concepts were then assembled into the theories of the Empathic Movement.

2004 Menotti Lerro graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures with a thesis dedicated to the impersonality of the poetry of T.S. Eliot and Eugenio Montale and to Modernism.
2006 Menotti Lerro obtained a Master of Arts degree at the University of Reading (UK) focusing on gender studies, interdisciplinarity in the arts, and autobiography as a genre.
In 2012, Menotti Lerro received his PhD in Autobiographical Poetry in England and Spain and in Postmodernism. The Carocci publishing house published his essay Raccontarsi in versi (Telling Your Story in Verse), which innovates the autobiographical genre by proclaiming the greater effectiveness of poetry over prose for narrating an autobiography tout court .
2017 First edition of the Cilento International Poetry Prize.
2018 Salento, the "Country of Poetry," is founded.
2019 The Contemporary Arts Center is founded , with offices in Milan and Cilento. The inaugural address of the Contemporary Arts Center, "Sulle Arti," is called the "New Manifesto on the Arts" by philosopher Remo Bodei. The literary magazine ClanDestino publishes it for the first time. Lerro writes the story dedicated to Unus, "Artista Totale," which is then illustrated by visual
artist Omar Galliani.
2020 The Empathetic School is founded by Menotti Lerro in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the physical and psychological closures caused by lockdowns. Omignano, the "Country of Aphorisms," is founded, edited by Menotti Lerro. Lerro theorizes the Cultural Pyramid of Cilento, including the Cultural Triangle of Ancient Cilento. Giuliano Ladolfi publishes the book "The Empathic School" featuring the
Movement's first 100 members.
In 2022, the literary magazine "Riscontri" dedicated a special issue to the Empathic Movement. The Ministry of Culture supported the Cilento International Poetry Prize for the promotion of Italian language and culture abroad.
In 2023, the English academic publishing house Cambridge Scholars published the volume "The Empathic Movement," focusing on the dialogue between the Three Schools of the Province of Salerno (MacroTriangolo) , recognized by the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage and Landscape of Salerno and Avellino and the Ministry of Culture. Lerro earned
a degree in Literature.
In 2025, the publishing house Genesi published the anthology of Italian Empathic Poets edited by Menotti Lerro. Jon Fosse, former Nobel Prize winner for Literature and Cilento Poetry Prize winner, sent his congratulations. The text and the movement were presented at the University of Salerno on two separate occasions. The Brera National Library hosted a conference on the movement. Armando Curcio Publishing House publishes the volume L'Empatismo, edited by Menotti Lerro and Maria Rita Parsi. At the Turin International Book Fair, Menotti Lerro delivers the speech "Is Art Empathetic or Narcissistic?" He identifies a bogus artistic-literary movement with Milan as its epicenter of today's European paralysis: Narcissism. The Cultural Pyramid of Cilento is considered definitive, with its 25 "neo-cultural towns" symbolizing its territorial epicenter. 300 Masters of the Movement carry forward its principles in Italy and abroad (the list is not yet final).
