Prifest – The 11th edition of Prishtina International Film Festival happening 16th to 21st of July.

Prishtina International Film Festival (PriFest) is a feature film festival set in the youngest country in the Balkans, Kosovo, namely in its capital Prishtina. This year PriFest holds its 11th edition.

Prishtina International Film Festival this year will have 8 juries, consisting of 3 members each, which will determine the award-winners in 5 competitive film programs.
"Aga’s House" by Lendita Zeqiraj opens ‘East of the West’ competition with a memorable premiere at Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
Long feature "Aga’s House", written and directed by Lendita Zeqiraj and produced by Bujar Kabashi, was exceptionally well received by the Karlovy Vary this year. The feature film ‘Aga’s House’ written and directed by Lendita Zeqiraj will open the ‘East of the West’ competition in one of the most important European and World festivals in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic.

Logline: A young boy living in a house of women must race to save a houseguest who is teaching him Serbian, so that he can continue the search for his missing father.
The film follows 9 year old boy (Arti Lokaj) who grew up with his mother in a house outside the city. He is learning Serbian from Zdenka, a woman of another nationality, in order to find his father whom he thinks is in prison in Serbia. The opening of the ‘East of the West’ competition in Karlovy Vary with Lendita’s film is an important moment for Kosovo's cinematography.

On the occasion of the Karlovy Vary's program line-up publication, screenwriter and director of the film Lendita expressed: “I am very honored that my movie "Shpia e Agës" will open the competition the program "East of The West’ at the Karlovy Vary, such an important world festival. Realizing this film was not easy at all, it took us a lot of time, effort and sacrifice. It was a very challenging but also a wonderful experience. I am very happy that the film’s journey is begining. It will be seen by many people it will now talk to the world. For me this is very rewarding.”Aga’s House" is produced by Bujar Kabashi. Roles are plays by: Arti Lokaj, Rozafa Çelaj, Adriana Matoshi, Shengyl Ismaili, Melihate Qena, Basri Lushtaku, Rebecca Qena, Molji Maxhuni, Egla Ceno and others.

The film is a co-production between Kosovo, Croatia, France, and Albania, with N'ART FILMS production house supported by Kosovo Cinematography Center, co-producer WOOF FILMS from Croatia; Sacrebleu productions from France; as well as Ska-Ndal Productions and SY13 Films from Albania supported by the National Cinematography Center.

Two Kosovo Features supported by the North Macedonian Film Agency
The Stroke written and directed by Isa Qosja and "Silence of the Sirens" written and directed by Gazmend Nela are two Kosovar films that have been supported by the North Macedonian Film Agency as minor co-productions.

The movie The Stroke is already a co-production between Kosovo, Albania and Montenegro.
This is the latest cooperation with the North Macedonian Film Agency, which has become one of the most important partners for Kosovo film industry. The Stroke and Silence of the Sirens are subsidized by the Kosovo Cinematography Center.

Continuation of the agreement enabling Kosovar students to study at FAMU was signed today
The continuation of the Memorandum of understanding with the film and television school of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague - FAMU, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the Kosovo Cinematography Center, has been signed today. This cooperatain provides secures audio-visual education opportunities for the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, especially for the students of this field.

The continuation of the agreement was signed by the Director of KCC, Arben Zharku and FAMU's vice dean Mr. Ondrej Zach. On the occasion of continuation of this Memorandum, director of KCC Mr. Zharku expresses: "We are delighted that we are continuing this great opportunity for younger generations who dream of studying film in one of the most precious schools in the world. We thank the Ministry of Culture that has continued to support this agreement and to FAMU for this opportunity. " The full scholarship that is awarded by the Ministry of Culture gives you the chance to study in the Bachelor program (if you speak Czech) and the Master program for: director, screenplay and cinematography.

The Academy of Fine Arts FAMU in Prague was founded in 1947, being one of the oldest schools in the world, and according to the Hollywood Reporter, is the number one school in Europe and the eleventh in the world. Graduates from this school are many filmmakers and screenwriters known internationally as Oscar winners or international film festival laureates. So far now 4 Kosovar students: Norika Sefa, Dritëro Mehmetaj, Noar Sahiti, and Enis Saraçi have been awareded this scholarship.

Flm Week in honor of the 20th anniversary of the liberation of Pristina.

Film Week is an event organized by the Kosovo Cinematography Center in cooperation with the Municipality of Prishtina and Kino Armata in honor of the 20th anniversary of the liberation of the city of Prishtina.
This week is organized within the framework of 20 other activities organized by the Municipality of Prishtina for marking this twenty-year anniversary.
The Film Week will take place during the third week of June at the Kino Armata.
The audience will have the opportunity to watch different movies produced in Kosovo.
These films in one form or another treat topics and tell stories related to the transition of Kosovo society over the years. The 90s, 98-99 war, social and economic aspects, short, long films and documentaries await us at Kino Armata every evening from 17 to 23 June.

The production of Films in this program (except for "A Normal Life" which was released in 2003) was supported by the Kosovo Cinematography Center. After the screening we will have the opportunity to talk to the film teams.
