DIVINE NUPTIALS
Ambrosial drops descend through heaven's light,
On ancient mosaics veiled by time's deep hand;
Through pools and scattered ruins gleaming bright,
Committed to the fates that rule the land.
Here wise Odysseus touched the waiting shore,
And Aeneas raised Cajeta's sacred stone;
Their names still linger, though they are no more,
While marble bears the wounds of years alone.
The silent coast keeps Circe's shadow bound,
Her voice now stirs like seaweed in the tide;
No more shall lost Ulysses here be found,
For memory's grief and absence here abide.
Yet Cassandra sighs where ruined columns lie,
And drowned gods wake beneath the mist-veiled sky.

NOZZE DIVINE
Gocce d’ambrosia piovono solenni
ombra ricurva, voce d’alga e sale.
solo scogli trafitti dalle onde
Circe, feconda d’incanti e sortilegi,
maga dormiente dal grembo del tempo,
stringe il nodo del ricordo d’Ulisse
senza concedergli fuga o perdono.
Cassandra, muta, sospira in eterno
tra Laocoonte e i figli straziati.
Sento ribollire l’ira funesta
su approdi, colonne, rocce e cavità
antiche, sacre al lamento degli dèi.
******************************
Seconda versione classicheggiante:
Stillano ambrosie gocce, e sacro piove
sopra le nozze degli eterni Numi,
su tessere sepolte all’oblio cieco,
L’arco del capo s’innalza nei vapori;
un guizzo d’ira marina ridesta
i Numi sommersi nel grembo del mare.
Figlie di Nereo e della sacra Dòride
tornano a riva: Nereidi antiche,
ma nulla a compimento or giunge:
solo scogli feriti dalle onde,
mar che s’innalza sulle mute sponde.
Sui luoghi aviti scorre e veglia Storia,
custode severa di miti e memorie.
Circe, feconda d’incanti e venefici,
maga sopita nel grembo del tempo,
stringe il nodo del ricordo d’Ulisse
né gli concede scampo né perdono.
Cassandra, muta, sospira in eterno
tra Laocoonte e i figli straziati.
Sento ribollir l’ira nefanda
su approdi, colonne, rupi e cavità
vetuste, sacre al pianto degli dèi dormienti.

DIVINE NUPTIALS
Drops of ambrosia fall amid Gods’ nuptials
On mosaics veiled by oblivion,
Among hollows of water and debris,
Entrusted to the breath of fate.
Here Odysseus made his landfall,
Left a name upon the shore.
Here Aeneas raised a tomb
For his nurse #Cajeta.
All else is marble scored by history.
The coasts are silent:
Circe lies a bowed shadow,
Her voice a rustle of seaweed.
Ulysses will not return.
Absence is stone, bereft of memory.
The headland arches in the vapor,
A flash of marine wrath
Stirs the drowned gods.
Daughters of Nereus and of Doris
Rise back to the surface,
Nereids with a marble cry.
Cassandra still sighs.
A word not believed,
Among armless statues
And rocks scorched and strewn by the sun.
Thus the air seethes with mist,
Yet nothing now is fulfilled:
Only wave-pierced cliffs,
And a sea that looms with swelling tides.
Over ancestral sites history slides,
Guardian of memories and myths.
Circe, fertile in enchantments,
Slumbering sorceress,
Tightens the coil of Ulysses’ memory,
Yet grants him no pardon for escape.
Cassandra, mute, sighs without end,
Between Laocoön and his sons.
I feel the baleful wrath boil over landings,
Pillars, rocks, and ancient hollows.

DIVINE NUPTIALS. By Franca Colozzo. Translated into Danish by Farzaneh Dorri
Guddommelige brylluper. Af Franca Colozzo. På dansk ved Farzaneh Dorri
Dråber af ambrosia falder midt i gudernes bryllup
på mosaikker, der er tilsløret af glemsel,
blandt hulninger af vand og ruiner,
som er overladt til skæbnens åndedræt.
Her gik Odysseus i land,
gav kysten et navn.
Her rejste Æneas et gravmonument
Over forfædrenes steder, rejser historien,
vogteren af minder og myter.
Circe, den slumrende troldkvinde,
frugtbar i fortryllelse,
dæmper Ulysses' erindring,
men giver ham ingen velsignelse for flugt.
Kassandra sukker stumt uden ende,
mellem Laokoon og hans sønner.
Jeg føler den ondsindede vrede koger over landinger,
søjler, klipper og gamle fordybninger.
